Who is this course for?
People who want to improve their inter-personal skills and their confidence in dealing with situations that require assertion.
The first session will explore what assertion is, and how some situations can trigger opposite responses. We will explore how our lack of assertion may undermine our effectiveness and how our emotional mind can hinder us, but can also be used to help us manage our behavior.
The second session will follow through on the first, focusing on practical techniques and approaches to help us develop assertion.
Both sessions will be run on Teams, and will use a mixture of group work and discussion. The sessions will be facilitated by Sophia Martin who is a leadership development facilitator and trainer with 30 years’ experience of supporting leaders and managers in developing their skills and effectiveness. Sophia has worked extensively with NHS organisations and with NECS since its foundation, providing a supportive and encouraging approach to development with individuals and groups.
