Description

A guide to some of the more advanced functions available within the Logical, Mathematical, Date & Time and Lookup categories.

Prerequisites
A good working knowledge of creating formulae and functions within Excel.
Ideally, previous attendance of “Introduction to Formulae and Functions” and “Introduction to Logical Functions” courses or equivalent experience.

Course outline

  • Exploring the Formulas ribbon
  • IF and IFS functions compared
  • Using the mathematical functions of:
    • COUNTIF and COUNTIFS
    • SUMIF and SUMIFS
  • Methods of rounding using:
    • ROUND, ROUNDDOWN and ROUNDUP
  • Calculating the differential between dates using:
    • DATEDIF and NETWORKDAYS
  • Deriving a new date using:
    • EDATE and EOMONTH
  • Returning the current date/time using:
    • TODAY and NOW
  • Manipulating a date using:
    • DAY, MONTH, YEAR and DATE
  • Using the CHOOSE function

The session will take between 45-55 minutes to complete and is followed by a Q & A which is optional to attend.
