Description

Who is the course for?

  • Aimed at individuals who are new to, or who have limited project management knowledge and/or experience. It provides an overview of the basic principles of good project management and an introduction to the NECS Project Management Approach.
  • Up to Band 7 staff with little or no practical experience of Project Management.

Aim

  • Clarify what is project management.
  • Understand why project management is important.
  • Provide an overview of the NECS standardised approach to project management and NECS project quality standards and assurance requirements.
  • Raise awareness of the tools available to support best practice project management across NECS.
  • Clarify the skills required and roles and responsibilities of a Project Manager / project team.

Objective

  • Participants will gain an insight and understanding of the basics of project management, why it is such a valuable skill, and what tools/resources are available to ensure a standardised approach is delivered and maintained.
