Resource creation
Our team excels in developing highly interactive and engaging online content, e-learning modules, and videos tailored to meet the diverse needs of NHS staff, patients, and beyond. We cover a wide range of topics, extending well beyond IT, ensuring that our resources are relevant and valuable to a broad audience.
Each resource is crafted collaboratively with our customers, ensuring alignment with their specific needs and goals. We adhere to globally-recognised accessibility and tracking standards, ensuring that our content is inclusive and effective.
Additionally, we provide comprehensive reporting on training activity, interactions, and outcomes, following the Kirkpatrick evaluation model to measure impact and success.
We collaborated with Dentistry within Health Education England to develop two eLearning courses. The first course targeted GP practices, aiming to upskill staff on the importance of oral health and its connection to overall patient care. By incorporating interactive modules and real-life scenarios, we made the content engaging and accessible, ultimately helping bridge the gap between dental and general healthcare.
The second course was designed for dentists interested in becoming Educational Supervisors. This program not only addressed the technical skills required but also emphasised the importance of mentorship and soft skills. Our approach empowered experienced dentists to confidently train and guide aspiring dental professionals.
Through close collaboration with subject matter experts, we ensured that both courses covered essential topics while using innovative methods to enhance learning. The successful implementation of these courses has improved knowledge and skills across the board, contributing to better patient care and professional development in the dentistry field.
Digital implementation
Our team specialises in the seamless implementation of a wide range of digital applications across the NHS, from clinical software and administrative tools to patient-facing technologies.
We manage the entire implementation cycle, supported by our experienced programme managers, project managers, business analysts, and change and benefits experts within our wider DTOS team.
Collaboration is at the heart of our approach—we work closely with stakeholders to ensure that digital solutions meet service needs and deliver tangible benefits. We bridge the gap between technical complexity and practical application, making IT work for you, not the other way around. Our considerable experience allows us to confidently say, “let us take care of that for you.”
Our Applications Training team recently completed the CSMS training programme to support NHSE and the Cervical Screening Administration Service (CSAS) in the successful roll-out of a new Cervical Screening Management System.
Our primary goal was to ensure that all CSAS members were fully competent and comfortable with the new digital application from day one. By aligning the learning objectives with both the service’s goals and the project’s requirements, we delivered a training program that met all predefined criteria within the set deadlines, as agreed upon with multiple stakeholders. We employed a blended learning approach, incorporating face-to-face sessions, online modules, videos, and interactive activities, with robust tracking to ensure progress.
During the Go-Live, we provided on-site support across multiple locations, including floor walking and hands-on assistance, to ensure a smooth transition. The successful Go-Live, with minimal disruption, reflects our team’s effectiveness. Our collaborative efforts with NHSE, CSAS, and other stakeholders were key to this national project’s success.
Training delivery
Our Training Delivery service offers a comprehensive range of formats, including in-person workshops, virtual classrooms, and self-paced online courses, ensuring flexibility to meet the diverse needs of NHS staff.
We tailor each session to specific teams and departments, using Training Needs Analyses (TNAs) or by focusing on agreed-upon topics and functionalities to ensure relevance. Our training is designed for accessibility, leveraging various delivery methods to accommodate different roles and technical abilities.
Our trainers are Microsoft-certified with extensive experience in the NHS and public sector, bringing deep expertise to every session. We use the Kirkpatrick evaluation model to assess effectiveness and continuously improve our offerings. Beyond a broad array of Microsoft courses, including core Office 365 functionality, we also provide cutting-edge training on AI technologies.
The learning team successfully delivered multiple courses via Microsoft Teams, offering short, “bite-sized” sessions of up to one hour on topics like Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
The Microsoft courses were tailored to various skill levels, ranging from introductory to advanced. This ensured that participants could engage at the right level for their needs.
In addition to Microsoft Office training, the team provided specialised learning solutions for applications within the federated data platform, such as Inpatient & Outpatient waiting list management and the OPTICA application, which tracks patients and their discharge tasks in real time.
In 2024, feedback from over 450 courses revealed that 95% of attendees reported a positive learning experience and believed the knowledge gained would enhance their job performance. This highlights the team’s success in delivering relevant, practical, and effective training that meets the diverse needs of the workforce.
Solutions development
Our Solutions Development service specialises in creating tailored solutions such as VBA and process automation using PowerAutomate, bespoke Access databases, and Excel-based dashboards.
We pride ourselves on building solutions in close collaboration with our clients, ensuring that each development is aligned with their specific needs and goals. Our deep understanding of NHS requirements and systems, coupled with our expertise in the relevant technologies, allows us to deliver highly effective solutions.
We focus on measuring Return on Investment and time and cost savings to ensure that our solutions provide tangible, beneficial results.
The learning team specialises in providing tailored solutions to improve time management and streamline processes. One notable example of their expertise was the development of a custom database for the Cervical Screening Assessment service within the military. The objective was to simplify the process of generating specific letters based on patient data.
This system utilised information from patient records, such as age and the type of letter required, to automatically generate and save letters as PDF files. Each letter included the patient’s name, date, and content, ready to be attached to an email or printed for mailing. With a simple data refresh, staff could produce multiple letters at the click of a button, significantly reducing the time and effort involved.
By automating this task, the database not only enhanced accuracy but also allowed staff to focus on more critical tasks, improving overall efficiency. This solution demonstrates the learning team’s ability to design practical tools that meet the specific needs of their customers.
The implementation of this custom database also helped ensure consistency across communications, reducing the likelihood of errors due to manual data entry. Additionally, the system’s flexibility allowed for future updates, accommodating changes in requirements without disrupting the workflow. This proactive approach reflects the learning team’s commitment to delivering adaptable, user-centered solutions that drive long-term operational improvements.
