How we work
Our structured service delivery cycle applies consistently across all our offerings, whether we’re developing resources, implementing digital solutions, delivering training, or creating bespoke systems. This approach ensures a thorough, collaborative, and effective process for achieving your objectives. Take a moment to relax and see how we bring our most exciting projects to life in this video.
Personalised optimisation
Our services to you are designed to be both flexible and highly tailored. For every client, we can conduct a needs assessment – either formal or informal, depending on preference and context – to establish your precise training requirements.
By aligning this to the requirement of palliative care, we ensure the training programme maximises the capabilities of TPP SystmOne in a way that supports compassionate care delivery.
We will deliver tangible benefits to your staff and patients through:
System Optimisation – training is designed to maximise system use, encouraging best practices that support both clinical and administrative functions within palliative care.
Latest Functionality – as an accredited service have the knowledge and experience to deploy SystmOne’s newest features into the training, and ensure teams are well-prepared to leverage these tools, enabling more efficient and comprehensive patient care.
Personalised Learning Pathways – support is delivered through methods and resources that consider varying learning styles, ensuring all team members gain confidence and competence at their own pace.
Training and Support
Our second-line support service is designed to be robust, encompassing both remote and on-site options. This comprehensive support structure enables us to address a wide range of issues, from general troubleshooting to more complex system challenges.
We offer live support as well as access to self-service resources, empowering palliative care providers to resolve issues effectively.
Support Options – with both remote and on-site support, we can address any issues promptly and effectively, whether teams need real-time assistance or guidance through our centralised resources.
Hands-On Support – during key periods, like post-migration or significant system updates, we can provide targeted support to help users adapt and troubleshoot efficiently.
Enhanced Self-Sufficiency – with self-service options through our repository, end-users have the tools to independently resolve minor issues, reducing downtime and fostering greater confidence in TPP SystmOne.
Treetops Hospice clinical system support
In 2017, Treetops Hospice in Risley, Derby, enlisted NECS to manage the migration of their clinical system to TPP SystmOne. The project involved several go-lives across multiple services, including Home Visiting, Daycare, Wellbeing, and Therapies.
NECS provided comprehensive support throughout the transition, offering onsite training, go-live management and floorwalking assistance to ensure
the smooth operation of the new system. In addition, custom help guides and resources were developed, tailored to the needs of the Treetops teams.
- Training needs assessment and system optimisation.
- Collaboration and support.
- Improving data quality and reporting.
- Training materials and progress monitoring
Results: Treetops Hospice chose to extend the contract with NECS and we have continued to provide clinical system support through ongoing training, which remains in place today. This partnership has proven mutually beneficial. Treetops leverages our expertise to enhance their staff’s experience and confidence with SystmOne while freeing up time by relying on NECS as their clinical system specialist. As a training team, we also gain significant advantages from this collaboration. Working with Treetops enables us to stay current and relevant with SystmOne units beyond GP IT, enhancing our overall knowledge and capabilities. Additionally, we provide personalised 1:1 support and training whenever Treetops requires it, ensuring tailored assistance for their specific needs.
Care Homes: Improving Workflows with SystmOne
This project aimed to enhance the workflows of four care homes by implementing improvements based on a comprehensive business analysis.
The NECS CSS team gained access to the care homes’ SystmOne unit and collaborated with care home services to set up appropriate caseloads. A trainer guided the project manager through the process of creating bulk referrals from GP practices to the new SystmOne unit, ensuring all care home patients were transferred accurately.
Once the referrals were received, patients were assigned to the correct caseloads, improving management and reporting. Staff underwent thorough training on the new system and processes, with administrators receiving additional support to generate reports and maintain data quality. This enabled staff to independently manage the new SystmOne unit and patient records effectively.
The results were clear: care homes could now manage patient cohorts, track referrals, and operate independently from GP practices. This project was successfully completed on time, achieving its goals of improving efficiency and freeing up GP staff for other tasks.
