Description

Understanding the process behind the creation of PivotCharts to graphically represent PivotTable data.

Prerequisites
A good working knowledge of Excel. Ideally, previous attendance of “Introduction to Creating Charts” and “Introduction to PivotTables” courses or equivalent experience.
PLEASE NOTE: This is the 10th course in a suggested series of the 14 Excel sessions available.

Course outline

  • Formatting data for a PivotChart
    • Importance of cleansing data for accuracy
    • Benefit of using Format as Table command
  • Creating a PivotChart
    • Can PivotCharts be created without a PivotTable?
    • Using the PivotChart command
  • Modifying a PivotChart
    • Using the contextual ribbons
    • The effects of changing filters
    • Hiding Value Field buttons
    • Adding a Secondary Axis with Combo chart type
  • Creating a PivotChart from existing PivotTable
    • Using Alt+F1 to create as object
    • Adding a Slicer
    • Using F11 to create on another sheet

The session will take between 30-40 minutes to complete and is followed by a Q & A which is optional to attend.
