Session 2: the art of leading others
This session will explore the difference between leadership and management and why leadership role modelling is just as important at this stage of your career as when in a management role. It will explain distributed leadership and encourage participants to consider how they might do this in and across the systems they are / will be working in.
The Healthcare Leadership Model will be explained and also NECS values. Finally, the session will consider the whole range of leadership possibilities, including leading upwards (and how to do this so that you get the outcome that’s acceptable without damaging relationships) and laterally (a collaborative leadership model will be shared and participants will consider how to fully engage in these behaviours).
